The Association of Independent Information Professionals (“AIIP”) is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions that are not answered in our Privacy Policy, please contact us.

This Privacy Policy governs the privacy policies and practices of AIIP.org and associated online services. Please read our Privacy Policy carefully as it will help you make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

AIIP does not collect any personally identifying information from users browsing our website. Aggregate demographic data is collected, such as page views and unique visitors, for internal and marketing purposes.

We collect your personal information when you either send a contact information form, register with us, or join AIIP. Specially, we collect information you provide via memberships, promotions, inquiries, registrations, donations, and subscriptions to emails. You control the amount and type of information you provide to us when using AIIP.org. The personal information that we collect can include the following:

• Name, Email Address and Location Data
• Business Information. If you choose to join AIIP, we ask specific information related to your business
• Payment Information. If you choose to join AIIP, we collect payment information through our payment processor. All payment information is securely stored by our payment processor and we do not have access to your sensitive information, such as credit card number, expiration date or security code.

We collect information about you from promotional emails to help us understand the effectiveness of our campaigns.

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on AIIP.org. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Website or through any of its features/register on the Website or make any purchases through the Website.

If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification or parental consent, we will delete that information.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY

When you use our Website, we may use automatic data collection to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. SHARING OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

AIIP will not sell your personal information to anyone.

We may share your personal information with third parties such as vendors, consultants and other service providers who work for us This information will only be provided if such third-party provides a service.

Personal information in e-mails sent to staff or AIIP leaders will be used to answer questions, address problems or complaints, or otherwise improve service. With any electronic communication, interception by unauthorized third parties is possible, so you may wish to transmit particularly confidential or sensitive information by regular mail or employ electronic file encryption.

Aggregated demographic, non-personal information may be used for reporting purposes.

MANAGING YOUR INFORMATION

We ask you to indicate your sharing preferences for member data when you join AIIP. You can manage this personal data by updating your membership profile on AIIP.org.

Members and non-members can opt-out of email communications via a link in each electronic mailing.

AIIP reserves the right to delete your personal data if it is no longer needed for its purposes.

You have a right to modify your own personal membership or email information.

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting AIIP. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

CALIFORNIA CONSUMER PRIVACY ACT (CCPA)

We comply and show our support of CCPA by posting this Privacy Policy on AIIP.org. Further, we adhere to our stated Privacy Policy by complying with what is documented.

Under CCPA, California residents have the right to:

• Request AIIP to disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that is collected
• Request AIIP to disclose full list of all third-parties that data is shared with
• Request that AIIP delete any personal data about them that has been collected
• Request that if AIIP were to sell their data that they not do so

If you make a request, AIIP has one month from the date of your request to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

MEMBER TOOLS AND COMMUNICATIONS

To gain access to members-only resources on AIIP.org, you must be an AIIP member in good standing with a username and password.

Additionally, for e-mails sent in HTML format to our members through our listservs and electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that e-mail. For those e-mails, AIIP will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: e-mail address of a user, the date and time of the user’s “click,” a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. AIIP only uses this information to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.

SECURITY

AIIP has appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. No Internet or e-mail

transmission is ever fully secure or error free. Because most e-mail is not encrypted, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via e-mail.

UNSUBSCRIBING FROM ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

All messages sent by AIIP through its listservs and electronic newsletters and other e-lists include information on how to unsubscribe quickly and easily through an automated system. If, at any time, you wish to opt-out of receiving communications from us, you may also send a written request to AIIP. If you wish to unsubscribe or need to process a change to your email address, send your requested changes to office@AIIP.org.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
