The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) is pleased to announce a call for nominations for the 14th annual AIIP Technology Award. The AIIP Technology Award was created to recognize innovative products that enhance the working environment of the independent information professional.

Nomination Process
- Both AIIP members and non-members may nominate any company or individual that produces information products (databases, web organizers, Internet sites) for web-based services or desktop software.
- The deadline for nominations is September 7, 2012.

Award Criteria
Winners of the AIIP Technology Award will be new products or technologies that help information professionals with their day-to-day operations in locating, analyzing, organizing, and delivering information.
The product must be related to the information field; AIIP does not consider accounting, word processing, database or spreadsheet, or other programs that are not directly related to locating, analyzing, organizing, or delivering information appropriate for this award.
The AIIP Technology Awards Committee will judge each entry on the basis of usability, speed, and content, if relevant. Committee members will review the nominations and submitted materials, directly evaluate the product if possible, and otherwise interview users.
Nature of the Award
Winners of the AIIP Technology Award will receive:
- An award certificate;
- Visibility at the Internet Librarian conference and in AIIP and Information Today publications; and
- Recognition in the form of a press release distributed via wire service and posted on the AIIP web site within a week of the award announcement.
