The Story of Angie's List

Angie Hicks

Roger Summit Award Lecture

Angie Hicks is the founder of Angie's List, a subscription-based social network that captures, catalogs, and disseminates word-of-mouth wisdom on service providers and health care professionals. Users share “detailed reviews on roofers, plumbers, house cleaners, dentists, and more.” 40,000 new reviews are posted by Angie’s List members each month.

Angie’s List has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, PCWorld, and msnbc.

Angie will share how she started Angie’s List and offer lessons in entrepreneurship to attendees. Having steered her business from an idea to a successful 2011 initial public offering, Ms. Hicks will inspire all AIIP entrepreneurs.
